IN THIS LESSON
This book is a letter written by Paul to believers in Rome. The church in Rome consisted of majority Gentiles with some Jews.
Paul had never visited Rome before he wrote the letter but he did know several believers whom he met during his travels elsewhere.
It is believed that Paul wrote this letter in approximately 57 AD during his third missionary journey, in Corinth, on his way to Jerusalem.
Paul's purpose in the letter was to present justification through faith available for all people, both Jews and Gentiles. Paul also encouraged Jewish and Gentile believers to live in harmony with each other in the Church.
